Description

This numismatic set contains a 2 euro commemorative coin, struck in Proof quality (BE), issued by the Principality of Monaco in 2010. The coin is made of bimetal, with a standard weight of 8.5 grams and a diameter of 25.75 millimeters, and a thickness of 2.2 millimeters.

The obverse of the coin features the portrait of Prince Albert II, sovereign of Monaco since 2005. The inscription "MONACO" is inscribed, followed by the year of issue "2010". The edge of the coin is adorned with the twelve stars symbolizing the European Union. The engraving of the obverse is the work of Pierre Jauvaudin.

The reverse of the coin depicts a map of the European continent, superimposed on a dynamic background composed of the twelve stars of the European Union. The face value "2 EURO" is clearly indicated. The initials "LL" of the engraver Luc Luycx also appear on this side.

The edge of the coin is finely milled and bears the inscription "2 **" repeated six times, alternately upright and inverted.

This coin was minted at the Monnaie de Paris. The mintage of this edition is limited to 25,000 copies. It is important to note that the cardboard case of this set has damage.
