The 10 Gulden banknote from Suriname, issued in 1963, is distinguished by its visual characteristics and security features. This banknote belongs to the LL series.
On the obverse, the banknote features an orange dominant color on a multicolored background. The central element of this side is the representation of a woman carrying a basket of fruit on her head. A torch is also visible next to her. The Latin inscriptions include the name of the issuing institution, "CENTRALE BANK VAN SURINAME", as well as the face value, "TIEN GULDEN". The date of issue, "1 SEPTEMBER 1963", is also mentioned. The signatures of C.A. MECHEL SE. DEL and JOH. ENSCHEDE EN ZONEN IMP complete this side.
The reverse of the banknote, also orange on a multicolored background, features the coat of arms of Suriname in the center. These coat of arms differ from those appearing on the 1957 banknotes. The serial number, consisting of one or two letters and six digits, is printed on this side. A central block at the bottom of the banknote contains the text of Article 260 of the Dutch Wetboek van Strafrecht, which deals with counterfeiting and misuse of banknotes.
The integrated watermark represents a parrot's head. The dimensions of the banknote are 151 mm in length and 66 mm in width.
