This 2 euro commemorative coin was issued by Monaco in 2013 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its admission to the United Nations (UN), which took place in 1993. The coin is packaged in a cardboard case, which may show signs of deterioration.
On the obverse of the coin, there is a stylized representation of the world map. A dove, the universal symbol of peace, is superimposed on this map, holding an olive branch in its beak. The inscriptions "MONACO" and "1993 ADMISSION À L'ONU 2013" are also on this side.
The reverse of the coin features a map of the European continent. This map is placed on a dynamic background composed of the twelve stars that symbolize the European Union. The face value of "2 EURO" as well as the initials "LL" of the engraver Luc Luycx are also present.
The edge of the coin is finely milled and bears the inscription "2 **" repeated six times, alternately upright and inverted. The mint responsible for minting this coin is the Monnaie de Paris.
This bimetallic coin weighs 8.5 grams and has a diameter of 25.75 mm, with a thickness of 2.2 mm. The mintage of this commemorative coin is limited to 10,000 copies.
