This Venezuelan banknote was issued in 1989. It has a face value of five bolivares. The banknote measures 156 millimeters long and 69 millimeters wide.

The front of the banknote is red, printed on a multicolored background. It features the inscriptions "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA" as well as "SEPTIEMBRE 21 1989" and "CINCO BOLIVARES PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO". Two Venezuelan historical figures are depicted: Simon Bolivar on the left and Francisco de Miranda on the right.
