This banknote was issued by the Banco Central de Venezuela in 1998. It has a face value of 2000 bolivares. The banknote measures 156 mm long and 69 mm wide.
The front of the banknote features a dominant green design. A portrait of Andrés Bello, painted by an unknown artist in Santiago, Chile in 1850, is positioned on the right. The face value "2000" is inscribed in the center, accompanied by the denomination in words "DOS MIL BOLIVARES", divided into two parts, as well as the payment clause "PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO", located under a representation of Pico Bolívar. The name of the issuer, "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA", appears in the upper left corner. The face value "2000" is repeated in each corner, except for the upper left corner.
The back of the banknote features a green design. It depicts Frailejones and Pico Bolívar in the center, with the coat of arms of Venezuela on the left. The watermark area is located on the right. The name of the issuer, "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA", is written in the upper left corner. The denomination in words "DOS MIL BOLIVARES" is present in the lower right corner, while the face value "2000" appears in the lower left and upper right corners.
