The 500 Dominican Peso banknote, issued in 2023 (dated 2024) and belonging to the MR series, is an official means of payment in the Dominican Republic. This banknote measures 158 mm in length and 67 mm in width.
The front of the banknote features the figures of Salome Ureña de Henriquez and Pedro Henriquez Ureña, important figures of the nation. The name of the issuer, Banco Central de la República Dominicana, is inscribed at the top of the banknote. In the upper left, transparent letters ("BCRD") that align perfectly are observed, placed next to the seal of the Central Bank. An inscription specifies the value of the banknote and its validity for the settlement of public and private obligations: "Este billete tiene fuerza liberatoria para el pago de todas las obligaciones públicas o privadas Quinientos Pesos Dominicanos".
The back of the banknote depicts the Banco Central building, located in Santo Domingo. The name of the issuer, Banco Central de la República Dominicana, is repeated at the top and bottom of the image. The face value "500" is indicated repeatedly, as well as the denomination "Quinientos Pesos Dominicanos".
The banknote's watermark represents Juan Pablo Duarte, an emblematic figure of the Dominican Republic. A vertical electrotype "500" is also visible on a pixelated background, adding an additional security element to the banknote.
