The 50 Dominican Peso banknote, issued in 2025, features distinctive characteristics on both sides. It measures 158 mm in length and 67 mm in width.
On the obverse, the banknote displays a representation of the Catedral Primada de América, Santa María La Menor, located in Santo Domingo. This cathedral is recognized as the first built on the American continent. A drawing of mahogany flowers (caoba) completes the iconography of this side.
The inscription "BANCO CENTRAL DE LA REPUBLICA DOMINICANA" is positioned at the top, extending from the left towards the center of the banknote. The year of issue, 2025, appears at the bottom. The coat of arms of the Central Bank is located on the left. The face value is indicated in letters at the bottom and in numerals at the top and bottom right. A mark for visually impaired people is present in the upper left corner. You can also read the statement "ESTE BILLETE TIENE FUERZA LIBERATORIA PARA EL PAGO DE TODAS LAS OBLIGACIONES PUBLICAS O PRIVADAS" and "CATEDRAL PRIMADA DE AMERICA, SANTA MARIA LA MENOR".
On the reverse, the banknote illustrates the Basilica de Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia in Salvaleón de Higüey. The name of the issuing institute, "BANCO CENTRAL DE LA REPUBLICA DOMINICANA", is inscribed in the upper left corner. The face value is expressed in numerals in the upper right and lower left corners, and in letters below the image of the basilica. You can also find the inscription "BASILICA DE NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA ALTAGRACIA".
