The 50 cruzeiros reais banknote, issued in 1993, features distinctive characteristics on both sides. Its dimensions are 140 millimeters in length and 65 millimeters in width.
On the front, a portrait of Luís da Câmara Cascudo (1898-1986) is positioned on the left. A scene of jangadeiros, traditional Brazilian fishermen, complements the main illustration. A rounded stamp bearing the inscription "50 Cruzeiros Reais" is also present. The inscriptions include: "BANCO CENTRAL DO BRASIL", the face value "50 000", the mention "CASA DA MOEDA DO BRASIL", the monetary unit "50 CRUZEIROS REAIS", the motto "DEUS SEJA LOUVADO", the name "CÂMARA CASCUDO", the titles of the officials "MINISTRO DA ECONOMIA, FAZENDA E PLANEJAMENTO" and "PRESIDENTE DO BANCO CENTRAL DO BRASIL", and the value in words "50 000 CINQÜENTA MIL CRUZEIROS".
The back of the banknote features a representation of the Bumba-Meu-Boi, a popular ballet emblematic of Brazilian folklore. The integrated watermark reproduces the portrait of Luís da Câmara Cascudo, visible when examining the banknote against the light. The series of the banknote is A-A.
This banknote testifies to a specific period in Brazilian monetary history and pays tribute to an important cultural figure of the country.
