This 50 dong banknote was issued in 1947 by the Vietnam Issuing Institute. It belongs to the HR 026 - 019 CG series. Its dimensions are 167 mm in length and 90 mm in width.
The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of Ho Chi Minh, an emblematic figure of Vietnam and a communist activist who was President of Vietnam. Above the portrait, the inscription "VIET NAM DAN CHU CONG HOA" is printed. The face value of "NÂM MUOI ÐÔNG" (fifty dongs) is also indicated, accompanied by the inscription "50 GIÂY BAC VIÊT NAM 50".
The reverse of the banknote displays the inscription "VIÊT-NAM DÂN-CHU CÔNG-HOA 50", repeating the name of the country. The face value "50 GIÂY NÂM MUOI ÐÔNG" is also present, reinforcing the identification of the denomination.
This 50 dong banknote bears witness to an era of Vietnamese history, marked by the figure of Ho Chi Minh and the early years of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The inscriptions in Vietnamese recall the political and social context of the time, while the graphic details and dimensions of the banknote make it a collector's item for numismatists interested in the monetary history of Vietnam.
