This 10 euro coin was issued by Spain in 2019 as part of a series dedicated to the Renaissance. It is struck in silver with a fineness of 925?, corresponding to sterling silver, guaranteeing a high quality metallic composition.

With a weight of 27 grams and a diameter of 40 millimetres, this is a generously sized coin, offering an extended striking surface that allows the details of its design to be showcased. One of its distinctive features is the application of colourisation, a technique that visually enriches the depicted motifs by adding precise tints, thereby enhancing the iconographic readability of the artistic elements related to the Renaissance period.

The Renaissance, a major cultural and artistic movement that emerged in Italy between the 14th and 16th centuries, forms the central theme of this issue. This movement, characterised by a return to the ideals of Greco-Roman Antiquity, profoundly influenced painting, sculpture, architecture and the sciences. Its impact on the Iberian Peninsula was considerable, particularly through the Spanish Plateresque style, a fusion of late Gothic art and the contributions of the Italian Renaissance.

The mintage is limited to 5,000 pieces, making it a restricted-circulation issue. Each piece is presented in an official case accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, documents that attest to the origin and technical characteristics of the coin and ensure the traceability of each unit issued within this series.
