2 Euros Commemorative SLOVENIA 2019
Theme: 100 years of the foundation of the University of Ljubljana
Quality: UNC (uncirculated).
Print run: 1,000,000 copies
Bi-metallic (nickel silver center - cupronickel ring) - 8 5 g - 25 75 mm in diameter - 2 20 mm thick.
With this coin, Slovenia commemorates the 100th anniversary of the University of Ljubjana. It opened its doors on December 3, 1919, a few months after the promulgation of the University Law by the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. The founding of the university made it easier for Slovenian students to study, as with the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy they were prevented from studying at Austrian universities, and laid the foundations for the development of science in Slovenia.
This theme is illustrated by the logo of the University of Ljubljana. Designers Daniela Vidmar Podboj and Toma? Podboj replaced the image of the facade included in the logo with an inscription reading 100 let Univerze v Ljubljani (100 years of the University of Ljubljana).
Edge: striated and insculpted, with the words "Slovenija" for Slovenia followed by an engraved dot.
