This numismatic series includes the eight euro circulation coins issued by Slovakia in 2013. The series consists of the following face values: 1 cent, 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, 1 euro, and 2 euros. These coins were struck under the authority of the Národná banka Slovenska.
The 1, 2, and 5 cent coins are made of copper-plated steel. The 1 cent coin has a diameter of 16.25 mm and weighs 2.30 g, with a smooth edge. The 2 cent coin has a diameter of 18.75 mm and a weight of 3.06 g, also with a smooth edge. The 5 cent coin measures 21.25 mm in diameter and weighs 3.92 g, with a smooth edge. The national side of these coins features Mount Kriváň, a natural and national symbol of Slovakia.
The 10, 20, and 50 cent coins are made of Nordic gold alloy. The 10 cent coin has a diameter of 19.75 mm and a weight of 4.10 g, with a reeded edge. The 20 cent coin has a diameter of 22.25 mm and a weight of 5.74 g, with a smooth edge with grooves. The 50 cent coin has a diameter of 24.25 mm and weighs 7.80 g, with a reeded edge. Bratislava Castle is depicted on the national side of these coins.
The 1 and 2 euro coins are bimetallic. The 1 euro coin has a diameter of 23.25 mm and a weight of 7.50 g, with a reeded edge. The 2 euro coin has a diameter of 25.75 mm and a weight of 8.50 g, with an edge bearing the inscription "??". The national side of these coins features the Slovak double cross on three hills, the national emblem of the country.
The condition of these coins varies, ranging from circulated condition to Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) depending on the packaging. The reverses of these coins are identical to those used by other countries in the euro area.
