Description
This 2 euro commemorative coin, issued by San Marino in 2021, celebrates the 550th anniversary of the birth of Albrecht Dürer. Struck in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) quality, it is presented in an official blister pack.
The coin is bimetallic, with a cupro-nickel center and a brass ring. It weighs 8.5 grams, its diameter measures 25.75 millimeters and its thickness is 2.20 millimeters.
The design of this coin is inspired by Albrecht Dürer's work entitled "The Virgin and Child with the Pear", an oil painting on wood dating from 1526. The original work is exhibited at the Uffizi Museum in Florence.
The edge of the coin is reeded and bears the inscription "2" followed by a star, repeated six times alternately, upright and inverted.
The mintage of this commemorative coin is limited to 54,000 copies.
