Coin Portugal EURO Coin Set - 1 Cent to 2 Euros - 2002

The 2002 BU Euro set includes all eight euro coin denominations issued by Portugal, ranging from 1 cent to 2 euros.

Each coin has the technical characteristics defined by the Eurozone for the circulation of banknotes. The national faces, specific to Portugal, display distinctive motifs related to the country's history and identity. The common faces, on the other hand, display a representation of Europe.

The 1, 2 and 5 cent coins are made of copper-plated steel, giving them a reddish color. The 10, 20 and 50 cent coins are made of brass alloy, giving them a yellow color. The 1 and 2 euro coins are bimetallic, combining two different alloys. The 1 euro coin has a cupronickel center surrounded by a nickel brass ring. The 2 euro coin is composed of a nickel brass center and a cupronickel ring.

The year of issue, 2002, is indicated on each coin. All of the coins are presented in a case specially designed for the conservation and presentation of the coins. This case highlights the coins and protects them from handling and external agents that could alter them.

The mintage of this set is limited to 50,000 copies.
