The Germany Euro BU Set 2018 is a numismatic collection that includes the official Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) series issued by the five German mints. These mints are identified by the letters A (Berlin), D (Munich), F (Stuttgart), G (Karlsruhe), and J (Hamburg). Each set includes the BU quality coins minted in 2018 and also includes the 2 euro commemorative coins issued during the same year.
Each set in the series consists of nine distinct coins. The set includes the 1 cent, 2 cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent coins, as well as the 1 euro coin. In addition, each set contains two 2 euro commemorative coins. One of these coins commemorates the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Chancellor Helmut Schmidt, while the other represents Charlottenburg Palace. It should be noted that some sets are designated as "sets of 9 coins" due to the inclusion of these two 2 euro commemorative coins.
The national sides of the German coins feature specific iconography. The 1, 2, and 5 cent coins feature an oak branch, a traditional German motif. The 10, 20, and 50 cent coins feature the Brandenburg Gate, a historical symbol of German unification. The 1 euro coin is adorned with a stylized federal eagle, the emblem of the Federal Republic of Germany. The 2 euro commemorative coins respectively feature a portrait of German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt (1918-2015) and a view of Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin.
This set is an official product of the Federal Republic of Germany, guaranteeing the Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) quality of the coins it contains. Each set therefore groups a total of nine coins, including the seven standard denominations from 1 cent to 1 euro, as well as the two 2 euro commemorative coins. The year of issue of these coins is 2018.
