This 2 euro commemorative coin was issued by Monaco in 2020 to mark the 300th anniversary of the birth of Prince Honoré III. The coin is bimetallic, composed of two different alloys. It weighs 8.5 grams and has a diameter of 25.75 millimeters, with a thickness of 2.2 millimeters.
The obverse of the coin features a bust portrait of Prince Honoré III. The inscriptions "HONORÉ III" and "MONACO" also appear on this face, accompanied by the years "1720 ? Birth ? 2020".
The reverse of the coin displays a map of Europe, superimposed on a dynamic background formed by the twelve stars that symbolize the European Union. The face value "2 EURO" is also visible on this face. The initials "LL", indicating the engraver Luc Luycx, are present.
The edge of the coin is finely reeded and bears the inscription "2 **", repeated six times with alternating orientation, once from bottom to top and once from top to bottom.
This coin was minted by the Monnaie de Paris. The mintage is limited to 15,000 copies.
