Each coin features the Irish national sides, with the Celtic harp, a traditional symbol of Ireland, and the year 2010. The 1, 2, and 5 cent coins are made of copper-plated steel, displaying a distinctive reddish color. The 10, 20, and 50 cent coins are made of Nordic gold alloy, characterized by their yellow color. The 1 and 2 euro coins are bimetallic, with a central part of a different color from the outer ring.
