This numismatic set features a complete series of Irish euro coins, minted in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) quality for the year 2004. It includes all eight different denominations, ranging from 1 cent to 2 euros.
Each coin in the series bears the Celtic harp, a traditional symbol of Ireland, on its national side. The name of the country, "Éire", is also present, as well as the year of issue, 2004. The common sides of the coins, on the other hand, feature the standardized designs used by all countries in the Eurozone, illustrating the value of each coin and a map of Europe.
The 1, 2, and 5 cent coins are made of copper-plated steel. They have a distinctive reddish color. The 10, 20, and 50 cent coins are made of "Nordic gold," an alloy of copper, aluminum, tin, and zinc, giving them a golden yellow color. The 1 and 2 euro coins are bimetallic. The 1 euro coin consists of a cupronickel center surrounded by a nickel-brass ring. The 2 euro coin is the reverse, with a nickel-brass center and a cupronickel ring.
The set itself is specially designed to protect and showcase the coins. It provides a safe enclosure to preserve the Brilliant Uncirculated quality of the coins and protect them against scratches and other potential damage.
This set is an official product issued by Ireland. It is a testament to the country's adoption of the euro and a collectible item for numismatists interested in European monetary history.
