The obverse of the note features the busts of six major figures in Ghanaian history: Kwame Nkrumah, Ebenezer Ako-Adjei, Edward Akufo-Addo, Joseph Boakye Danquah, Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey and William Ofori Atta. These portraits are aligned on the right side of the note. In the center, there is a representation of the Independence Arch, an emblematic monument of the country. The reverse of the note highlights the Akosombo Dam, an important engineering structure for Ghana, located in the center left of the composition.

The banknote's watermark depicts a man and a cocoa pod, symbolic elements of Ghana's culture and economy.
