This banknote is issued by Ghana, with a face value of one cedi. The issue dates from 2022 and is part of the LJ series.
The obverse of the note features the busts of six major figures in Ghanaian history: Kwame Nkrumah, Ebenezer Ako-Adjei, Edward Akufo-Addo, Joseph Boakye Danquah, Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey and William Ofori Atta. These portraits are aligned on the right side of the note. In the center, there is a representation of the Independence Arch, an emblematic monument of the country. The coat of arms of Ghana is positioned at the bottom center of the note, while a star is visible on the left.
The reverse of the note highlights the Akosombo Dam, an important engineering structure for Ghana, located in the center left of the composition.
The banknote's watermark depicts a man and a cocoa pod, symbolic elements of Ghana's culture and economy.
The printing of this banknote was carried out by De La Rue, a company specializing in the design and production of banknotes and secure documents.
