In 2021, the Monnaie de Paris struck a new 1/4 ? coin in common metal depicting an animal drawn in a childlike way.
Surrounded by plum blossom, a symbol widely used in Chinese history and art, as well as lanterns, the snake is represented in a joyful and childlike way. The inscription "Year of the Snake" followed by the year 2025 appears in the center of the coin. The ideogram of the snake appears below. On the reverse, we find all the animals of the Chinese zodiac drawn in a childlike manner distributed around the symbol of Ying and Yang. From 2018 to 2029, a complete cycle of the Chinese zodiac is composed. Each of these twelve years highlights an animal from this calendar. The face value is visible in the center of the coin and the mention "RF".
