To celebrate Asterix's sporting achievements, the Monnaie de Paris exclusively strikes a shaped coin representing the most famous of the Gauls. Perched on the top step of the podium, Asterix stands proudly and holds a laurel branch in his hand as a reward for his sporting achievements. The reverse of the coin is adorned with pictograms relating to sport and Olympism and features the face value of the coin, its vintage and the RF initials for 'French Republic'.
