This 50 gold coin represents Hedwige the owl from Harry Potter. She is holding the Nimbus 2000 in her talons, a gift from Professor McGonagall for the new catcher in the Gryffindor team. The background shows the Hogwarts banqueting hall and the year of the coin.

The reverse of this coin features the coat of arms of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The house emblems are shown above the school motto "Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus", meaning "Don't tickle a sleeping dragon". The face value of this coin is shown below the coat of arms.
