10 Euros FRANCE 2019
Theme: 50 years of the first steps on the Moon
Series : History of Humanity
Quality: BE (Beautiful Proof).
Edition : 5 000 copies.
Silver 900 ‰ - 17,3 g - Ø 37mm.
This coin highlights the three astronauts Neil Armrstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin, who as part of the American space programme Apollo 11 mission, were the first to walk on the Moon on 20 July 1969. A technical innovation is proposed with this "stained glass effect" coin, as for the coin dedicated to Notre Dame de Paris, in translucent resin with glitter (for the stars), dark on the reverse/moon side, and clear on the obverse.
On the 10€ Silver BE coin, the scene is enhanced by the blue resin which is inserted into the perforated part to represent the Universe and its infinite extent.
A light source placed behind this blue surface gives all the brilliance, depth and sublimation of Earthlight to this unique coin. Each €10 coin is unique with its own unique resin deposit, echoing the perpetual movement of the stars in the universe.
There is literally not a Front and a Reverse but a side seen from the Moon and a side seen from the Earth.
The reverse side refers to a plane "seen from the Earth". The Moon is on the left and the astronaut's back is to the right. The inscriptions '1969-2019' and '50 Years of the First Steps on the Moon' reflect the anniversary of this event. The face value is also visible on the reverse.
