This commemorative numismatic series, issued by France in 2004, consists of all eight euro denomination coins, ranging from 1 cent to 2 euros. The set is completed by a token.
Each coin in the series features the technical characteristics of the current French euro circulation coins, both in terms of dimensions and metallic composition. The 1, 2, and 5 cent coins are made of copper-plated steel. The 10, 20, and 50 cent coins are made of "Nordic gold," an alloy of copper, aluminum, zinc, and tin. The 1 and 2 euro coins are bimetallic: the 1 euro coin consists of a cupronickel center and a brass ring, while the 2 euro coin consists of a brass center and a cupronickel ring.
The uniqueness of this series lies in the chosen iconographic theme, namely the Little Prince. The motifs appearing on the national faces of the coins are not described here, but it is important to note that each denomination is specific to this theme.
The condition of the coins is "Brilliant Uncirculated" (BU), which means they have not been circulated and have a new and brilliant appearance. They are generally packaged in specific packaging to protect and showcase them.
The token included in the series also reflects the theme of the Little Prince.
