This is a French collector's coin, struck in 999 gold, with a face value of 100 euros, issued in 2008. It commemorates the Sower in motion and is part of a series of eight commemorative coins.
The obverse of the coin depicts the Sower, an allegorical figure of the French Republic, in full action. She is depicted walking barefoot, wearing a dress that opens to reveal her legs. Her hair flows in the wind, escaping from her Phrygian cap. With a haughty gait, she sows stars from her left hand, while a bag is slung over her right shoulder. Stars are also scattered in front of her. A radiant sun is visible in the upper right of the coin. The inscription "RF" and the year of issue "2008" are also present. The complete legend "République Française" appears on this face. The engraver of this coin is Joaquin Jimenez.
The reverse of the coin shows the face value, 100 euros, placed between two branches of laurel and oak. These elements frame a symbol evoking the Euro symbol. The French motto is inscribed on this face, surrounding an assembly of lines representing the Hexagon. The coin weighs 3.1 grams and has a diameter of 15 millimeters. The mintage of this coin is limited to 50000 copies.
