The 10 cent France coin, struck in Proof quality in 2003, is a collector's item from the Proof sets of the Monnaie de Paris. This coin has not been put into circulation and comes exclusively from the BE France 2003 set.
Proof quality is characterized by finely polished mirror fields, sharp and contrasting matte reliefs, a strike made with specially prepared dies, and a finish superior to that of ordinary circulation coins.
The obverse of the coin features the Sower, an emblematic figure of the French Republic, symbolizing freedom, progress, and the transmission of republican values. The reverse displays a map of Europe, accompanied by the face value '10 EURO CENT'.
The coin is made of Nordic alloy, also known as Nordic Gold. Its diameter is 19.75 millimeters and its weight is 4.10 grams. The edge of the coin is finely reeded.
