The 100 Brazilian Cruzeiros banknote, issued in 1987, pays tribute to Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira, who was President of the Republic of Brazil from 1956 to 1961. This banknote belongs to the A-A series and was manufactured by the Casa da Moeda do Brasil.
On the front of the banknote, on the right, is a portrait of Juscelino Kubitschek. On the left, there is a representation of the electrical transmission station in the foreground, with a highway visible in the background. The inscriptions include "BANCO CENTRAL DO BRASIL" at the top, followed by the designations of the functions of "PRESIDENTE DO CONSELHO MONETÁRIO NACIONAL" and "PRESIDENTE DO BANCO CENTRAL DO BRASIL". The name "JUSCELINO KUBITSCHEK" is also mentioned, as well as the face value "100 CEM CRUZADOS".
The back of the banknote features images of iconic buildings. On the left, we see the National Congress in the foreground, accompanied by the Catetinho on the left and the Alvorada Palace on the right. The face value "100" is prominently inscribed, repeated with the mention "100 CEM CRUZADOS".
The banknote's watermark reveals a portrait of Juscelino Kubitschek. The dimensions of the banknote are 154 mm in length and 74 mm in width. The dominant color of the banknote is difficult to identify without direct observation, but the graphic elements are designed to reflect the importance of Juscelino Kubitschek in the history of Brazil, particularly for his role in the construction of Brasilia, the new capital.
