This Brazilian banknote was issued in 1987. It has a face value of 10 cruzados.
The front of the banknote features, on the right, a portrait of Ruy Barbosa de Oliveira, born in 1849 and died in 1923. On the left, a representation of a table on which various objects are arranged: a lamp, an open book with the title "DEUXIÈME CONFÉRENCE DE LA PAIX LAHAYE 1907" in French, as well as a set of ink pens, a blotter and a sheet of paper with inscriptions. To the left of this table representation, there is a vertical sequence of eight images extracted from open books, with two central images bearing the inscriptions "DROITE" and "LIBERTÉ".
Several inscriptions also appear on the front: "BANCO CENTRAL DO BRASIL", "PRESIDENTE DO CONSELHO MONETÁRIO NACIONAL", "PRESIDENTE DO BANCO CENTRAL DO BRASIL", "RUI BARBOSA", "DIREITO LIBERDADE", "DEUXIÈME CONFÉRENCE DE LA PAIX LAHAYE 1907", "10 DEZ CRUZADOS" and "CASA DA MOEDA DO BRASIL".
The back of the banknote depicts Ruy Barbosa during his speech at the second peace conference held in The Hague, Netherlands, in 1907. The banknote's watermark reproduces the effigy of Ruy Barbosa.
The dimensions of this banknote are 154 mm in length and 74 mm in width.
