   Issued both to celebrate the 2025 Alpine Skiing World Championships in Saalbach, Austria, and Austria's love of winter sports, World Champion illustrates the joy that arises when exceptional feats make an entire country proud.
 
 Whether it's skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing or snowshoeing across a snow-covered landscape, the connection with the wonders of winter is deeply ingrained in Austrians. Shifting your weight from side to side as you hurtle down a slope gives a sense of enormous physical freedom. 
 The reverse of the coin depicts the helmeted head of a skier with the number 1, symbolising first place. The word Weltmeister (world champion) is reflected in the skier's goggles - the goal that every competitive athlete has in mind. The skier's face is shown only by the outlines of the coin, and the design is complemented by snow crystals in the background. The obverse of the coin features the coats of arms of the nine Austrian federal states, as do all Austrian ?5 coins.
