Coin Andorra BU Euro set - Andorra 2020

The Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) Euro coin set from Andorra dated 2020 brings together all the euro coins struck by the Principality of Andorra for this year of issue. This small landlocked state in the Pyrenees, between France and Spain, has been minting its own euro coins since 2014, even though it is not a member of the European Union, under a monetary agreement concluded with the European Union.

This set presents the coins in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, corresponding to a superior strike quality achieved through the use of carefully prepared dies and blanks. The coins produced in this way feature sharp reliefs, smooth fields and a characteristic brilliant appearance, without however reaching the level of finish of Proof quality.

The set includes all the face values of the current euro series, namely the 1 cent, 2 cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent, 1 euro and 2 euro coins. The national sides of the Andorran coins bear iconic motifs linked to the Principality, while the common sides follow the standardised design established for the euro area.

The mintage of this set is limited to 12,000 pieces, making it a relatively exclusive issue compared to the series produced by the larger eurozone member states. This mintage limitation is characteristic of Andorra's issuance policy, which produces restricted volumes intended primarily for numismatic collectors.

The coins are packaged in an official set issued by the competent monetary authority, guaranteeing their authenticity and the preservation of their condition. This type of packaging protects the coins from any mechanical or atmospheric alteration that could affect their surface.
