Description

The 500 Yugoslav dinara banknote issued in 1991 features several distinct graphic and textual elements.

On the front, the banknote displays the portrait of a young man. This portrait is positioned to occupy a prominent place on the surface of the banknote. The background of the portrait consists of complex guilloche patterns, serving both as ornamentation and as a security measure against counterfeiting. The face value of "500" is printed in numerals in the upper and lower corners of the banknote, as well as in words in a specific area. The mention of the issuing country, "Yugoslavia", is also present, written in the local language. Official signatures, probably those of representatives of the central bank, also appear on the front.

The reverse of the banknote features the coat of arms of Yugoslavia. These arms are represented with a high level of detail, allowing the identification of the various constituent symbols and blazons. The face value of "500" is repeated on the back, both in numerals and in words. Guilloche patterns similar to those on the front are used to frame the coat of arms and enhance the security of the banknote. Legal inscriptions and mentions relating to the issue of the banknote are also included on the back.

The dominant colors of the banknote are likely to vary, but they are generally chosen to facilitate visual distinction and complicate unauthorized reproduction. The paper used for printing is specific, incorporating security features such as special fibers or a watermark, visible by transparency. The dimensions of the banknote are standardized to facilitate its handling and storage.
