10 Euros Commemorative Vatican 2024

Theme : Saint Bartholomew (Saint Barthélemy)

Quality : Proof
Edition : 3 300 pieces.

Silver 925 ‰ - 22 g - 34 mm diameter

Supplied in a slipcase with certificate of authenticity

This year's €10 silver coin is dedicated to the apostle Bartholomew. Originally from Cana in Galilee, tradition tells of his life as a missionary in the Middle East. According to the few reports that have come down to us about him, he was flayed alive and beheaded around the middle of the first century in Armenia. On the reverse of the coin, our artist Antonella Napolione depicts the apostle with his hands folded and his gaze turned downwards where, next to the Gospel, is a knife symbolising his martyrdom. On the left of the coin, the skin and features of his suffering face are depicted.
