 The Vatican commemorates this year the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Padre Pio. Pope Francis, on a pastoral visit to San Giovanni Rotondo last March, highlighted the legacy left by the Saint of Pietrelcina: prayer groups, the House of Relief from Suffering, and the confessional. 

 This heritage evokes for the Holy Father prayer, smallness, and wisdom of life. We must pray like Saint Pio - says the Pope - never tire because we cannot know the Father without opening ourselves to praise without dedicating time to Him alone without worshiping.
