Nigeria offers a 500 Naira banknote, issued in 2024, belonging to Series H.95. This commemorative banknote pays tribute to Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, an emblematic figure of the country.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe (1904-1996), the first President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Ornamental security patterns, inspired by traditional Nigerian art, complete the design.
The back of the banknote depicts an offshore oil drilling platform, a symbol of the Nigerian oil industry. The coat of arms of Nigeria is also present.
The watermark of the banknote reproduces the portrait of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, accompanied by the electrotype "CBN500", which identifies the face value of the banknote and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
In terms of dimensions, the banknote measures 151 mm in length and 78 mm in width.
