The 100,000 Meticais banknote, issued by the Bank of Mozambique in 1993, represents a denomination from the FD series (P.139) and offers a glimpse of the country's important symbols and infrastructure at that time.
On the obverse, there is a representation of the Banco de Moçambique building in Maputo, accompanied by the national coat of arms. A transparent security feature, in the shape of a corn stalk, is also present. The inscription "CEM MIL METICAIS MAPUTO 16 DE JUNHO DE 1993 REPÚBLICA DE MOÇAMBIQUE" is included.
The reverse of the banknote highlights the Cahora Bassa hydroelectric dam and its power plant, located on the Zambezi River. The logo of the Bank of Mozambique (BDM) is also present. Artwork illustrating neurons or electricity completes the design.
Inscriptions in Latin script include "REPÚBLICA DE MOÇAMBIQUE CEM MIL METICAIS A falsificação da moeda é punida nos termos da lei".
The banknote's watermark reproduces the Bank of Mozambique logo. The banknote measures 165 mm long and 69 mm wide.
