Description

The 2 euro coin issued by Monaco in 2024 features a bi-metallic design. It is composed of a cupro-nickel center and a copper-nickel ring, giving it a distinctive two-part structure. The total weight of the coin is 8.5 grams, while its diameter measures 25.75 millimeters. The thickness is 2.20 millimeters.

The obverse of the coin features the twelve stars of the European Community arranged in a circle on the outer ring. The center of the coin highlights the portrait of Prince Albert II, the reigning sovereign of Monaco since 2005. The engraver of this face is Pierre Jauvaudin.

On the reverse, a map of the European continent is depicted. This map is integrated into a dynamic background formed by the twelve stars of the European Union. The engraver responsible for the design of this face is Luc Luycx.
