Coin France Museum of Louvre - The Venus of Milo - 2 Euros Commemo. BU 2025 - Coincard

The Monnaie de Paris celebrates in 2025 the Musée du Louvre, one of the most famous museums in the world, with this French commemorative 2 euro coin.

The national side features an original composition bringing together several iconic elements of the Louvre. At the centre appears the historic facade of the palace, topped by the famous glass pyramid. The design plays on the encounter between the museum's classical architecture and the geometric lines of the pyramid, which has become one of the symbols of the Louvre since its inauguration.

The letters RF, standing for République française (French Republic), appear on the left of the composition, accompanied by the 2025 year mark and the mint marks. The inscription « MUSÉE DU LOUVRE » appears at the bottom, while the twelve European stars surround the motif on the outer ring.

The reverse features the common side of 2 euro coins, with the face value and the map of Europe.

This version is offered as a coin only, without Coincard, for collectors wishing to add this French issue directly to their commemorative 2 euro collection, in an album, a tray or a coin cabinet.

The coin has the standard characteristics of a 2 euro coin: 8.50 g, 25.75 mm diameter and a bimetallic composition.
