The front of the banknote features, on the right and left, medallions depicting a personification of Industry and Agriculture. Two blue cherubs adorn the upper part. In the center, five pink medallions represent Minerva and the four seasons. The inscriptions "BANQUE de FRANCE" and "CINQUANTE FRANCS" are also present, as well as the signature "DANIEL DUPUIS et G. DUVAL, fec. JULES ROBERT SCULP." All inscriptions are in Latin script.
The back of the banknote depicts a personification of Industry and Agriculture holding hands. The face value "CINQUANTE FRANCS" is also found, as well as the mentions "INDUSTRIE" and "AGRICULTURE". The signature "DANIEL DUPUIS et G. DUVAL, fec. JULES ROBERT SCULP." is also reproduced. The inscriptions are in Latin script.
The watermark of this banknote represents a female head in profile. Charles-Jules Robert worked as an engraver, while Jean-Baptiste-Daniel Dupuis and Georges Duval worked as designers on this banknote.
