On the obverse, there is a personification of Industry and Agriculture represented in medallions positioned on the right and left. Two cherubs appear at the top of the banknote, printed in blue. In the center, in the upper part, five pink medallions illustrate Minerva and a personification of the four seasons. The writing is in Latin. The inscription "BANQUE de FRANCE" and the value "CINQUANTE FRANCS" can be read. There is also the mention "DANIEL DUPUIS et G. DUVAL, fec. JULES ROBERT SCULP.", indicating the artists involved in the design of the banknote.
On the reverse, another representation of Industry and Agriculture is visible, the two figures holding hands. Charles-Jules Robert is credited as the engraver, while Jean-Baptiste-Daniel Dupuis and Georges Duval are identified as the designers.
