The 20 Zambian Kwacha banknote, issued in 2024, features a dominant mauve and blue color scheme on its front. The inscriptions are in English. It features the Bank of Zambia logo, as well as a flower used as a registration device. A scene depicting a tractor plowing a field is also present, as is a fish eagle in flight. The map of Zambia is reproduced with an OVI (Optically Variable Ink) effect. The coat of arms of Zambia completes the visual elements of this face.
A windowed security thread is integrated into the banknote, bearing the demetalized logo of the Bank of Zambia and the face value "20". Textual inscriptions include the mention "BANK OF ZAMBIA", the promise to pay the bearer "TWENTY KWACHA", and the designation of the issuing institution "FOR THE BANK OF ZAMBIA". The script used is Latin.
The back of the banknote features text in English and depicts a water buffalo, as well as a candelabra tree. Two standing antelopes are also represented, as are the Chishimba Falls. A flower serves as a registration device, similar to the front. Textual inscriptions include "BANK OF ZAMBIA", the national motto "ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION", and the face value "TWENTY KWACHA".
The watermark of the banknote features a fish eagle and the electrotype "20" accompanied by an additional fish eagle. The banknote was printed by Giesecke+Devrient in Leipzig, Germany. Its dimensions are 124 mm in length and 69 mm in width. The series to which this banknote belongs is the AH series.
