This Zambian banknote has a face value of 1 kwacha. It belongs to the A/76 series and was issued between 1980 and 1988.
The front of the note features a black design on a multicoloured background. In the centre, there is an African fish eagle, a flower and the face value. The portrait of President Kenneth Kaunda is positioned on the right. The coat of arms of Zambia is located at the bottom of the note.
The back of the note is also in black on a multicoloured background. The central illustration depicts workers harvesting cotton. A blank area for the watermark is visible on the right. The name of the bank is framed at the top of the note, while the face value and the name of the printer are indicated at the bottom.
The banknote measures 127 mm long and 65 mm wide.
