Description

This banknote originates from South Vietnam and has a face value of 1 dong. It was issued in 1956 and is part of Series N.4.

The obverse of the banknote is printed in emerald green and dark pink, with a serial number in black. On the right side, there is a representation of the Temple of King Hùng, while a watermark is visible on the left. A signature is affixed in the center of the banknote. The design includes an ornamental guilloche pattern as well as rosettes indicating the denomination. The serial number is located at the bottom of the banknote, divided into two parts.

The reverse of the banknote is also printed in emerald green and dark pink. It features an illustration of the entrance to the Museum of Vietnamese History on the left and a watermark on the right. As on the obverse, there is an ornamental guilloche pattern and denomination rosettes.

The dimensions of this banknote are 123 mm in length and 78 mm in width.

The Temple of King Hùng represented on the banknote is an important historical and cultural site in Vietnam, dedicated to the Hùng Kings, considered the founders of the nation. The Museum of Vietnamese History, also illustrated, houses a collection of artifacts tracing the history of the country.
