This unissued 20-dollar banknote comes from the Bank of Augusta, located in the State of Georgia, USA. Its issuance period is between 1850 and 1865. The banknote is of the obverse only type (UNIFACE).

The obverse of the banknote features several distinct graphic elements. On the left, there is a bust that may represent James Oglethorpe. In the center, an allegorical scene depicts two female figures sitting on either side of a shield. One of the women wears a Phrygian cap, a symbol of freedom.
