The Royal Mint is starting to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II with a 50 pence coin. This is the first time that the British mint has commemorated a royal event on this type of denomination. It features the commemorative portrait of the Queen's platinum jubilee. This bold graphic celebration by the Osborne Ross agency appears on the reverse of the coin. The booklet recounts the Queen's previous jubilee celebrations. The coin is minted in BU and comes in an official blister pack.
