This banknote is issued by the Bank of England. It has a face value of ten shillings. It dates from 1966 and belongs to the B1 2N series.
The front of the note features a multicoloured background with brown as the dominant colour. The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is positioned on the right. On the left, there is an allegorical representation of Britannia seated. The inscriptions "BANK OF ENGLAND" and "I promise to pay the Bearer on Demand the sum of Ten shillings" are clearly visible. The name of the city of London is also present, followed by "For the Govr. and Compa. of the BANK of ENGLAND". The engraver of this part of the note is Robert Austin.
The reverse of the note depicts another representation of Britannia, seated and holding a shield, a spear and an olive branch. This figure is placed in a circle, slightly off-centre on the right. The watermark of the note consists of laurel heads arranged in a continuous vertical row on the left.
The dimensions of the note are 140 mm in length and 67 mm in width.
