The third piece in the Urban Contemporary Art series is dedicated to Bordalo II. Artur Bordalo (Lisbon, 1987), grandson of the painter Real Bordalo, studied at the Beaux-Arts in Lisbon, but did not complete his course because he became enthusiastic about the multidisciplinary approach to art and his large-scale creations made from materials wasted by others. Today, he is a sculptor, painter, welder and graffiti artist, and no longer works in the shadows.

The silver coin features a half-moon made of recycled polymer on both sides, which represented a new technical challenge for the Mint, which teamed up with the Polymer Engineering Innovation Centre (PIEP).

Like all Bordalo II's work, this coin will be innovative and instantly recognisable as his own.
