On the occasion of the 170th anniversary of the Italian national police force, IPZS is offering its first commemorative 2 euro 2022. Two officers of the "Polizia di Stato" (Italian National Police), a man and a woman, stand out in the foreground against a police car.

Above, the inscription in the form of an arch "POLIZIA DI STATO"; on the right, "RI", the acronym for the Italian Republic; below, left, centre and right respectively, "R", identifying the Mint of Rome, "AM", the initials of the designer Annalisa Masini, and the dates "1852-2022", the year in which the "Polizia di Stato" was founded and the year in which the coin was issued; all around, the twelve stars of the European Union.

Edge: striated and inscribed with a 2 followed by a star, all repeated six times, alternating right side and reverse.
