This ?10 silver commemorative coin is issued in 2026 by the French Republic. It celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Concorde's entry into service.
The coin weighs 13 grams and has a diameter of 31 millimeters. Its fineness is 333, and the mintage is limited to 15,000 copies. The engraving was carried out by the engraving workshop of the Monnaie de Paris from illustrations by comic book artist Romain Hugault.
On the obverse of the coin, the center of the composition features a view of the Concorde from above. The right delta wing of the aircraft is replaced by a representation of the Eiffel Tower, whose shape is reminiscent of the supersonic aircraft. This fusion symbolizes both the nationality of the Concorde and its first take-off location. Vertical lines on either side of the central subject evoke the speed of the plane. The inscription "50 ans de la mise en service du Concorde" (50 years of the Concorde's entry into service) and the year complete the design.
The reverse of the coin features the face value, surrounded by two branches, one of oak and the other of laurel, evoking the symbol of the Euro. The entire design is framed by the inscription "République Française" (French Republic) and by an assembly of lines representing the Hexagon.
