The 5 Kyats banknote from Myanmar, issued in 1996, is part of the CX series. It measures 130 mm in length and 60 mm in width.
The front of the banknote features a Chinthe, a mythical leonine creature, a traditional guardian of Burmese temples. It also includes the inscription in Burmese "????????????????????????" which means "Central Bank of Myanmar". The face value of "5" is indicated in Arabic numerals and in Burmese letters "???????".
The back of the banknote illustrates a scene from the traditional game of Chinlone, a Burmese sport where players use their feet and knees to keep a cane ball in the air. You can read the inscription "CENTRAL BANK OF MYANMAR" and "FIVE KYATS", indicating the issuing central bank and the face value in English. The value "5" is repeated in Arabic numerals.
The banknote's watermark represents a chinthe head, similar to the one on the obverse, as well as the value "?" in Burmese numerals.
