A scene of fishermen in action is also illustrated, along with a Livingston's Cichlid (Nimbochromis livingstonii), a fish locally called Kalingono.
The back of the banknote highlights the College of Medicine in Blantyre. A stethoscope, a symbol of medical training and health services, is also present. The logo of the Reserve Bank of Malawi is included.
